About him
It’s difficult to sell yourself without being pompous or falsely modest. I’m not Charles Atlas (remember him? And yes, I’m cool with that 😊) but otherwise I have quite a bit to offer. So here goes. First, a few likes and dislikes: Likes: being with people, but also embracing solitude; walking, the countryside, problem-solving, books, skiing, flying, food and wine (but no expert), history and tradition, dogs (I speak fluent labrador), France (although my French is less fluent) and inevitably music (any genre so long as it’s good, so Bach, Miles, Dire Straits, Gaga, Palestrina and Django Reinhardt qualify).
I run most days.
Sense of humour? From the dry to the zany. I value intelligent, articulate conversation and a quick-witted riposte. But I’m equally happy just chilling.
Professionally, I‘ve written books and journal articles, been an NHS doctor, a university professor, and run my own business. But my favourite job is being a dad.
