Kia Ora!
First impressions aren’t always accurate. Initially, I’m seen as gentle, warm and nurturing with a highly intuitive, perceptive, empathic, and holistic way of moving through life with the ability to find beauty in unexpected places.
I’m also adventurous, spirited, and passionate for the people and causes in my heart (wildlife rescue volunteer, saving spiders from certain squishing, and slave to adopted/foster cats with special needs - Some walk like drunk toddlers).
My unique name trips people up. I’m barefoot whenever possible (Polynesian/hidden Hobbit genes), an approximatura playing Cellist (More yo-yo master than Yo-Yo Ma!), my playful, creative spirit usually finds unique solutions, and my talent for neatly folding fitted sheets is genuine sorcery.
I’m Māori, Tahitian, Italian, French, Norwegian, Swiss and connect strongly with my Māori/Tahitian upbringing/beliefs being central to who I am and my personal growth.
I try to balance my independent nature with my innate desire for deep, authentic connections and conversations, and cherish moments with loved ones where feelings and conversations linger long after plates are cleared.
I’ve experienced many exhilarating and terrifying adventures when my abundant curves and being born with Spina Bifida doesn’t fit the “standard” for working with a variety of animals worldwide or the many “twists” requiring adaptability, grit and grace when my body and environment don’t align.
Especially, when said curves and my “adorable” clumsiness meet bamboo bridges, hidden gems off the beaten path, rickety overcrowded public transport, and animals who behave like stroppy teenagers.
All, while trying to retain a crumb of dignity.
Thankfully, my quirky usually quick-witted Kiwi sense of humour is often my saving grace when my patience and Kiwi ingenuity is tested with "Uh oh!" moments and cringing embarrassments.
I enjoy art, writing, music that moves me, gardening and the reassuring touch of nature, being in/near water, sunset/sunrise/moon gazing.

As family, I've known H. for many years. I've watched as people hardly notice her at first, and then without them realizing it, her truly unique, quirky, warm, kind, and nurturing ways quietly storm straight into their hearts.
She's sensitive, empathetic, emotionally secure, intelligent, frustrating-at-times, fierce when treated harshly, well-travelled, and cultured. Her heart breaks over animal and human cruelty, injustice, prejudice, and the state of the world.
