About him
Looking to the Future - mine will change when my Partner (who has Alzheimer's Disease) finally enters a permanent Residential Care Home. I am NOT looking forward to that, after 21+ years.

My Politics - almost slightly Right of Centre. I am a Countryman - Cities are for visits. Caring, Intellectual and Practical Gentleman (Widower - sadly, no Children I know of), who has had enough knocks (Physical and Emotional); Travelled the world a great deal on Business; Healthwise - may have 12 more years 'under the hood', but I'd be glad to get some Body Repairs done - currently paying for the 'Fun' of the Past (Backpacking, Caving, Rugby). Love Music - used to Perform in (and Run) an Amateur Operatic Society, probably from Mum (see below), although I enjoy Blues, Classical, Jazz and C&W as well. Looking for a Lady who is a Sharer, not a Competitor; my Weakness is that I like Helping People.
I was Raised on a small Farm (by an Accountant/Former Professional Boxer Father, and a Former Professional Opera Singer Mother) - I admired my Parents. Pursued Academia and Employment in Science, Technology and Engineering; loved Fly-Fishing ... if I can catch the flies; was keen on Bridge even from School Days; had the Contract to Replace all the broken School windows; Used to go Shooting (Clay, Deer, Game and Vermin - also Target Rifles - now ceased); probably classed as a Technophile; Keen Reader, started Writing before my 2nd Wife died, re-started whilst Caring for my Partner (the prettiest lady in the photo) who sadly, suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.
Experienced in practical matters, but DIY is essential, rather than a love (now on my 7th Remodelling Project); Creative Gardening has been an interest. Believe Life is what you make it. Used to play (Contract) Bridge, somewhat assertively, now without a Partner. Tactile, not phased by Public Demonstration of Affection; the Mind is Willing, but the Body is a bit Worn - please be gentle with me.

Interested in a Kind, Caring Lady with a Fun Side; Domestic Skills rate A/A+; looking for Sharer, NOT a Competitor; Sense of Humour Essential; a Lady who is Fair to view (in my eyes); Car Driver preferred; Would love to develop Activities to share (I enjoy Bridge, but willing to try new Activities - except Bungee Jumping and Sky Diving), someone who can enjoy Travel and also simply Relaxing; No more 'Control Freaks', please (been there - never again). Bible-Thumpers, Devout Vegetarians/Vegans - just ignore me; comfortable with my attitude to Religions and as I was raised on a Farm, I know the Realities of Life and getting my own Food. My Politics started Conservative, then became more Liberal, now A-Political - I actually stood as an Independent in Borough Elections.
My Idea of Heaven - to wake up beside the (tactile) lady I love and Care for (thank goodness I no longer need my CPAP Mask).
P.S. GP has advised that I might make the Family Lifeline, so I could be around until age 95. Dreadful Thought !
